Hanlontown's first years from 1900 through the 1930's.

This view is looking southwest.  The brick building with three windows and awning at the extreme right of the picture stands today and is a good reference point for these pictures.
This view is also looking west-southwest.  Note the horsedrawn wagon at the extreme right of the photo. The next three pictures were taken at about the location of the horse drawn wagon in this picture.
This is Main Street looking south.  It was a dirt street and wooden sidewalks when this was taken.  The sign hanging over the sidewalk at the left of the picture says, "City Hotel."
This is also looking south down Main Street.  This was taken later as automobiles have replaced horses but Main Street remains unpaved.  The second building on the left side is the Farmers Savings Bank.  The building on the right says, "Meatmarket."

This is also looking south down Main Street at a later time judging from the newer cars parked on the street. It would appear this would be in the late 1930s or early '40s. Note the new Citizen's Savings Bank building on the right next to the meat market that has been built since the above picture.
